The Permaculture Scotland Gathering 2020 Logistics
Due to Covid-19, we are sorry to have to say that the Permaculture Scotland 2020 gathering is postponed until further notice.
We are monitoring the situation closely and are looking forward to hosting the gathering in Findhorn as and when it is safe to do so. This may either be September 2020, or June 2021, we are still unable to say.
Until we can see each other in person again, we are looking into hosting online events, webinars and gatherings - stay tuned for more information on this!
The Scotland Permaculture Gathering 2020 is happening at the iconic Findhorn Park Ecovillage with our hosts the Findhorn Hinterland Trust.

Accessibility
We want to do all we can to can to help with mobility at the site, please contact the team if you would like to discuss your particular requirements for the festival. Registered guide dogs are welcome on site.
Accommodation
Camping:
More comfortable camping and camper vans:
More comfortable camping (with showers, etc) include pitches for: tents, motorised campers, caravans, statics, etc and can be booked through the the holiday park (RV's, caravans and camping) – 5 minutes’ walk from the event site. We are not able to accommodate camper vans on site. We are investigating whether there is a nearby site for wild RV camping but it is very unlikely.
BnB’s and Youth Hostel.
There are several options for other paid for accommodation that need to be booked separately; best you book that accommodation early if required, as we're anticipating a record turnout. Click here for B&Bs, here for the youth hostel in Findhorn village (20 minutes' walk away from the event site) or here for a Google Maps accommodation link.

Getting here
We strongly encourage using public transport. If driving, please consider car sharing. A Liftshare Facebook group to help you arrange it can be joined here. There's a wealth of information here (with the Findhorn Foundation) and of course there's Google Maps here.
On foot or bicycle: Those eco-heroes who can walk or cycle here will be welcomed with a nice hot cuppa when they arrive!
By Train:The most environmentally friendly way to travel if you cannot walk/cycle. The train station at Forres is well-connected to Inverness, and other stations all over Scotland. Train times should be announced (by Scotrail) in April. It may also save some money if you can book your ticket in advance.
By Bus: Thanks to our friends in the New Findhorn Association, Stagecoach bus times can be found here, on-demand bus services are here (Findhorn Assn info).
By Car: If you are driving, don't go alone, share your car with others! We set up a Facebook CAR SHARE GROUP to enable matching people up. There's also a terrific pay as you go Moray Car Share service here.
Parking spaces are very limited and we encourage you to use public transport, which is also better for the envrionment and therefore helping us to reduce our climate impact. If you need to drive, let us know in advance (we will also ask closer to the event), so that we can reserve you a parking spot within the community (first come, first served). Overflow parking is up to 30 minutes' walk away. We have a few parking spaces on site for those with accessibility needs and workshop leaders bringing a lot of gear.
Upon arrival
Make your way to the Barrel Houses, which will be the drop off and meeting point (link on map) (TBC) where cars and shuttle bus can unload. Volunteers will meet you there and show you to the event site, and have wheelbarrows readily available for transporting luggage.
Volunteering
Volunteering forms the backbone of our gathering and we rely on the support of many helping hands to have a graceful event! We have a limited number of volunteer tickets - in return for a few shifts during the weekend you will get the event for free and only need to pay for your food (£28 for the weekend). Tasks include registration and info tent, sign posting, supporting meals and dishes, etc.
For more information and to apply to be a volunteer, please click here " (link to google form).
