About the project
Detailed Description:

The Concrete Garden is an urban community food growing and creative waste reduction project providing growing space, activities, and events for the people of Possilpark and the wider North Glasgow area.

Our Urban Growing Hub site is 684m2 and has 16 small raised beds which are adopted each year by folk looking to learn how to grow their own.

We also have five large shared veg beds and lots of fruit, herbs, edible flowers and wildlife flowers/plants growing in barrels, tyres, planters and all sorts of re-purposed containers. We make as much of our own compost as possible, mostly with hot-heaps, using waste from the garden, kitchen waste, and used bedding and manure from our chickens.

We also make worm cast in home-made worm bins. We work with our local community, to increase food growing, composting and creative waste reduction activities. We strive to work alongside local folk to create a healthier, happier Possil by creating opportunties to grow, work, socialise, play and learn together.
